Leonart Daytona 350i Blue
The beginning of our tryp was a beautiful Leonart Daytona 350i, fully built into the space between my car and the wall of my parking lot in Barcelona, which you can see on this website.
Like first love, your first project is never forgotten, and although it was sold many years ago, it remains in our minds as one of our most cherished motorcycles. And although it has inspired several previous projects, we've never been asked for a replica of that bike before. Until today.
The stock bike itself is very attractive, despite the brand's bad reputation. The materials are quality, sometimes excessive, although it's true that the assembly and hardware don't match those of more recognized brands. But if we consider that this is a touring bike, not a high-performance one, it will give us nothing but satisfaction.
The transformation has infinite details. The tank has been lowered at the front, and the ignition key now is located in the fake oil tank under the seat, which comes from its sister model, the Leonart Bobber 350 i and also houses all the electronics for the fuel-injected engine. The front rim, which is the same as the rear, can only have one brake disc, so one of the lines of the double front brake disc had to be removed. The front fender was made of steel to match the rear. The seat is a phenomenally crafted Biltwell solo seat. The rear fender is from Gasbox, a renowned American manufacturer, and was adapted to the rear swing arm so that it moves with it and allows for a very tight fit to the tire. Finally, the homemade exhausts were finished with stainless steel tips that house the dBKillers.
To make it more comfortable handling than its reference model—with clip-on handlebars on the bars—the bike keeps the stock handlebars, which makes easy move the fat front tire much better than those tiny clip-ons.
To be honest it has been a joy to remember that first build and satisfy the customer's wishes in the process.
